Lykins Energy Solutions is celebrating 70 years of growth and community service. Founded in 1948 by Guy Lykins, Sr., now in the third generation of management, Lykins Companies has a rich diverse heritage of product and service innovation and community service.
Over the past seven decades, Lykins has expanded its services to include customers in Ohio, Kentucky, Indiana and West Virginia, as well as throughout the Midwestern and Southeastern United States. The company provides key services and products including: branded fuels and wholesale fuels, petroleum transportation, home heating oil, propane, lubricants, fleet fueling and electricity. Lykins represents four major brands: Gulf, BP, Marathon and Shell. Decades of strategic planning and a series of acquisitions has fueled the company’s growth. Lykins is one of the oldest and largest Petroleum Marketing Companies in the region and the nation. The company is one of the 100 largest privately held companies in Ohio, and one of the top 10 largest privately held companies in the Greater Cincinnati area.
In 2014, Lykins Oil Company changed its name to Lykins Energy Solutions to represent the new energy products the company was offering its customers.
Over the last 70 years, the core of Lykins’ business has always been its customers. “As in the past, we want to supply our customers well into the future with the energy sources they need every day. We are proud to have served our customers for 70 years and look forward to another 70 years of Powering Life,” says Lykins President, Jeff Lykins.
From the very beginning, Lykins has been committed to their customers and the community. That commitment has grown as much as the company. One of Lykins’ signature events is their annual golf outing to support CASA for Clermont Kids. The company has raised more than $660,000 for CASA since 1989. This year’s donation from golf outing proceeds equated to 37% of CASA’s annual budget. Committed to education, The Guy B. and Mabel Lykins Scholarship gives away thousands of dollars each year to local area high school students in pursuit of their Bachelor’s degree. Other local charities the company supports include: Boys & Girls Clubs, local food pantries, anti-child abuse organizations just to name a few.
