Lykins Energy Solutions and Co-Sponsors, DigiMax Signs and Copper Blue Restaurant of Milford, come together every year to have a charity golf outing in September.
Last year the golf committee raised $75,000.00 for CASA. This year they raised $73,000.00.
CASA stands for Court Appointed Special Advocate. CASA gives an abused child in the foster system/court system an advocate to check on their well-being, their progress, check in on them at school and be in touch with their daily lives. The CASA advocate also goes to court for them or with them and speaks on their behalf based on what is in the best interest of that child. Neither a social worker, nor an attorney could give the child that kind of time or attention. CASA is a crucial component for an abused child especially with the growing heroin epidemic.
Lykins is proud to have raised over $660,000.00 for CASA over the last 18 years. Lykins wants to thank all of their customers, vendors and employee’s for participating and giving their hearts, time and money for their golf outing. Without them none of this would be possible.
Don Lykins, (2nd generation ownership of Lykins) died of blood cancer just a few short years ago. Don had several blood transfusions over the course of his treatment, which prolonged his life for many years. Without the generosity of volunteer blood donors, Don would have had a much shorter life. Lykins Energy Solutions remains committed to sponsoring our yearly blood drive in Don’s name.
Your donation does matter. Every donation can save the lives of up to three people. All it takes to volunteer is fifteen minutes to help someone in need.
When thinking about donation blood, please consider these points:
-More than 41,000 blood donations are needed every day.
-Blood cannot be manufactured – it can only come from generous donors.
-Most donated red blood cells must be used within 42 days of collection.
-Donated platelets must be used within 5 days of collection – new donations are constantly needed.
On September 11, 2014, Lykins Energy Solutions sponsored its 25th annual charity golf tournament at Legendary Run Golf Club. Jeff Lykins serves as President and CEO of Lykins Energy Solutions and is proud to carry on his family tradition of giving back to the community. In addition to his duties as President and CEO, Jeff serves on numerous non-profit and business boards in the area. Although many businesses support the event by attending and donating, Jeff noted Copper Blue Restaurant in Milford provided all the lunches for the golfers and DigiMax donated all the print materials and staff golf shirts for the event. In addition, Legendary Run Golf Course made a significant in kind contribution for the event.
This year, as in the past 15 years, CASA for Clermont Kids has been the beneficiary of Jeff’s and his staff’s efforts. He believes that the work done by CASA helps make Clermont County a better place to live and work. CASA for Clermont Kids and its volunteers serve abused, neglected, and dependent children in Clermont County. Every day in Clermont County children are removed from their homes by Children’s Protective Services and are thrust into the Juvenile Court System, through no fault of their own. The CASA for Clermont Kids volunteers work to find a safe, loving, and stable atmosphere for this children.
Jeff presented a check to Nathan Bell, the Executive Director of CASA for Clermont Kids, for the proceeds of this years golf tournament on October 3, 2014 at Copper Blue Restaurant in Milford.
CASA for Clermont Kids presented the first annual Lykins Positive Energy Award last Friday to Jeff Lykins. This award, which will be given out annually at future Spring Charity Galas, is being named after Jeff Lykins for all he has done to support CASA for Clermont Kids. The purpose of this award is to recognize and thank an individual or company for their outstanding support, efforts, and commitment to CASA for Clermont Kids. It also recognizes the difference they have made and continue to make to the program and in the community.
Lykins Energy Solutions has further demonstrated its commitment to the community through the BP Fueling Communities Program by donating $12,500 to Cincinnati Nature Center. Fueling Communities provides grants to local organizations that are nominated by BP Branded Marketers to support the communities in which they provide service.
As part of the program, Jeff Lykins, a Nature Center Board Member and President of Lykins Energy Solutions, nominated Cincinnati Nature Center to receive this grant. In addition to his advocacy for Cincinnati Nature Center and his service to the board, Jeff, through a corporate sponsorship, generously supports the Nature Center’s signature fundraising gala Back to Nature as well.
Lykins Energy Solutions is a family owned and operated business headquarted in Milford, Ohio. According to Jeff, “We are proud to be able to give such a wonderful donation to the Cincinnati Nature Center, and we are fortunate to have such a unique place in the tri-state area for all to enjoy.”
